Favored Friday: BHDLN is Coming to Georgetown!

 

Washington brides who want a wedding befitting an Anthropologie catalog will soon have another option besides shopping online for their gowns. The brand's wedding brand, BHLDN, will open a permanent shop-within-a-shop this spring at the Georgetown Anthropologie store on M Street. In addition to the brand's full assortment of wedding gowns, reception dresses and attire for bridesmaids, BHLDN's Georgetown shop will sell an edited assortment of jewelry, accessories and décor. Expect to find in-store exclusives hand-selected for D.C., with a focus on personalized service via BHLDN stylists. I dont know about you but I cant wait to check out the new store! The offical opening date is Friday April 11th!

Attention cake lovers! We have yet another incredible Vendor for you to check out for your next event. Gone are the days that you have a plain sheet cake at your wedding, birthday party, bridal shower, or anniversary! Make sure you get a cake that will not only serve as dessert, but also WOW your guests. This week we spotlight Couture Cakes by Sabrina.

Bio: As a child in Saginaw, Michigan, Sabrina Hare was always around the cooks in her family. She developed a passion for baking watching her grandmother turn out delectable pies and cakes for the family. Sabrina’s love for mixing decadent combinations of butter, sugar, and fruits led to a summer job in her aunt’s commercial kitchen, where she helped prep for wedding receptions.

 

In 2013, she officially launched Couture Cakes by Sabrina. With fashion as her inspiration,  she loves making each order special for any occasion. With her unique touch in cake decoration and sugar craft, her goal is to bring the clients vision to life. If you can think of it, it can be done!

Prices vary depending on size and complexity of the design. Their custom cakes have a starting price of $250 for a minimum of 30 people. A 3D Sculpted/Carved Cake has a starting price of $350 for a minimum of 30 people.

Fabipops is a new luxury cake pop boutique in Park Slope, New York. Unlike other cake pop shops, every cake pop is handmade and custom designed for thier clients liking - take a look at some of the images below and check out some of their celebrity work, its fantastic!

Fabipops caters to any occasion, whether its birthdays, kids parties, adult parties, weddings, communions and ect, their cake pops can be customized to match any event. Fabipops is a custom, gourmet dessert company that bakes in a Kosher kitchen which has catered to corporate, private and celebrity events, and because of consumer demand, Fabiola will now open her first store.

Fabiola, the owner of Fabipops, is a Haitian-born, and also pregnant with her second child. She started this business from scratch after the death of her newborn child - where she took a complete gamble and left her career in the financial industry to start her company.

Recently, Favored came across a interesting Vendor: Tanamachi Studio, Design & Lettering Boutique. This studio specializes in "hand-lettering & custom typography for editorial, lifestyle, food, and fashion brands." You may have seen Dana Tanamachi's work on several publications and not even realized it. Recently, her chalk work has been featured on well known magazine covers such as Time and O Magazine. Dana Tanamachi is a Texas-bred, Brooklyn-based graphic designer and letterer who enjoys living a quiet life and working with her hands. After designing Broadway show posters at SpotCo and working under Louise Fili, Dana opened her own design & lettering boutique, Tanamachi Studio. She has been commissioned by clients such as Google, Yahoo!, Rugby Ralph Lauren, The Ace Hotel, Tommy Hilfiger, West Elm, and Bloomingdale’s. In 2011, she was named a Young Gun (YG9) by the Art Directors Club and a Young Creative to Watch by HOW Magazine. In 2012, Dana had the unique honor of creating custom cover art for O, HOW, and TIME Magazines.
