Lauren Mackenzie decided to ditch the traditional bachelorette party and instead invited her guest to shoot a fun music video with her! Participants learned choreographed moves and danced to the tunes of Beyonce and Kesha. I absolutely this idea! Such a creative way to celebrate and incorporate all age groups. Even grandma got to make a cameo!
Summer Nuptials We Didn’t See Coming
Keira Knightley and James Righton
Knightley wore a simple strapless tulle dress created by Chanel for her big day, which she paired with flat pumps and a cropped Chanel jacket. She wore a daisy chain garland as her headpiece. While her Klaxons’ keyboardist husband opted out for a navy blue suit, white shirt and skinny baby blue tie. This is a great wedding outfit inspiration for the simple yet edgy couples out there.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler
The Laguna Beach star wed Chicago Bears quarterback on June 8th in Nashville, TN. Kristin wore a white strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. Her groom and 10 month old son wore gray suits with a white shirt and tie. Guests enjoyed Southern food at the reception which was held at the Houston Station in Nashville.
Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha
We didn’t see this one coming! Our favorite TV show Scandal, star Kerry Washington surprised us with this one. She secretly married the 49ers cornerback husband Nnamdi on June 24th in Hailey, Idaho. The event was private with just close friends and family. We look forward to seeing wedding pictures soon.
Halle Berry and Oliver Martinez
The never aging Halle Berry and her French actor husband said, “I Do”, surrounded by close friends and family members on July 13th in Chateau de Vallery in France.
Tina Turner and Erwin Bach
What’s love got to do with it? EVERYTHING! After 27 years of being together the diva and her long time boyfriend tied the knot in a private ceremony in Switzerland. Turner, meanwhile, broke from the traditional white gown and rocked a stunning black silk tulle and lime-green taffeta gown with Swarovski crystal embellishment by Giorgio Armani. This shows us it’s never too late to find love.
Food trucks have been the latest hit in food trends in cities all over. And it seems that DC couples love the idea of a food truck at their weddings too! Truckeroo is a monthly festival held at Half and M Street, SE across from Navy Yard Metro Station. Over 20 food trucks take part of the event, so its the perfect place for a new couple to scout out some possible caterers for their upcoming wedding. Its also a great date night in the midst of the the stressful wedding planning process (when you don't hire Favored team lol!) with plenty of drinks at the bullpen, cornhole, and live music for the first truckeroo of the season.
If youre thinking of having something fresh instead of traditional catering, a food truck can provide another food option for your wedding – whether it’s as the main meal, some fun bites between the ceremony and reception or as a late night snack. Any foodie couple will love the idea of local, gourmet food options for their wedding. Who needs banquet food when you can have mobile grilled cheeses, tacos, burgers, ice cream and more delivered right to your wedding?
Food trucks might not be suitable for a traditional wedding, as guests might be expecting a sit-down meal, but they’re ideal for casual, outdoor celebrations. Some would say a food truck at a wedding is tacky, but I think not. You have so many gourmet options nowadays. Because many trucks are small businesses, they can personalize menus and customize the service, usually at a less expensive cost than traditional catering.
As we all know, Easter is a Christian festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion at Calvary. Celebrated worldwide, Easter is a time for self-reflection, renewal, rebirth, spreading love and forgiveness. It's also a time to eat good, spend quality time with family/loved ones and even take the kids on a Easter Egg Hunt.
In an Egg Hunt, whether indoors or outdoors, decorated eggs (real hard-boiled ones or artificial) are filled with or made of chocolate candies of various sizes and are hidden in various places for children to find. When the hunt is over, prizes may be given out for various achievements, such as the largest number of eggs collected, the largest or smallest egg, or for the most eggs of a specific color.
Here is a list of Egg Hunts right here in the DC Metropolitan area you can attend. Make this Easter an adventurous and fun-filled day for you and the kids. HAPPY EASTER!!

Wedding bells for Chris Brown and Rihanna?! That is the word swirling around the rumor mill and blogs across the country.
I couldn’t find the story on a credible site or any of my favorite blogs, but the ones I did find all seemed to point back to Star Magazine. Saying, “The planned summer wedding will be all about swagger, bling and sin.” Hmmmm…I’m not sure how true this is, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all. Chris and Rihanna have been very hot and heavy for the past couple of months so a wedding isn’t that farfetched.
In case the rumor is true, what do you think the wedding décor will look like? We at Favored are thinking a super sexy red theme for the couple but still very fun. Or, since Rihanna is from Barbados and Chris loves art, maybe a bright beach chic theme would suit them. For some reason I definitely don’t see Rihanna in the traditional white dress. Whenever or IF they do decide to get married, I know everyone will be anxiously awaiting the photos! Until then, check out the pictures below for a little red wedding inspiration.
